The Structured Pattern

The aesthetic quality of an image is heavily dependent on the structure of it's pattern. The patterns structure is defined by relative colors, relative areas and visual balance.

I use structured patterns to compose my art and analyse images. Each pattern is laid out on a grid divided into the proportions of Phi Revised . Each proportion represents a different color weight .

Any pattern can be converted into any illustration by adjusting the colors within each color weight of the pattern. Patterns can be custom made for illustrations to enhance their visual communication.
